EGTC-Workshop 2020/2 (Kóspallag)

Event, 30-31 July 2020

Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the second EGTC workshop this year was held in Kóspallag, with the participation of our director of planning, Mátyás Jaschitz, who made a presentation about the thematic preparation of INTERREG programmes.

The two-day professional event had a varied agenda. Besides that the relevant conclusions for the EGTCs of the 2014-2020 programming period were evaluated, the organisers also payed attention to inform the public about the current topics through several expert presentations. The programme even included an interactive, EGTC round table discussion. On the second day of the event, the participants visited the venue of a successfully completed project.

The presentations covered topics such as the legal and administrative barriers that hinder the cross-border projects, the specific characteristics of the INTERREG programmes, the role of the integrated projects in the use of the cohesion policy funds, the direct EU funding in the cross-border developments, the thematic preparation process of the INTERREG programmes, and the role of the young people and the dialogue in shaping the future of the European regions.

Beyond the expert presentations, the interactive feature of the workshop was also strengthened by the short, introductory presentations of all of the EGTCs, organised according to specific criteria. The EGTCs presented their principles of project management, their development goals, their expectations, challenges and problems. The discussion created opportunity for exchanging expertise and promoted mutual inspiration.

The second day’s venue was Ipolydamásd, where the mayor after his greeting, presented the ambitious goals of the local government, and the developments which are in progress, and which are planned to be implemented in the future.
