The SECCo2 project was completed

| 01 February 2019

The ‘SECCo2 – Youth for cross-border partnership and cohesion of EUSDR and EUSAIR’ project of CESCI was completed on 31 January, which was implemented together with the AEBR (Association of European Border Regions), the ISIG (Istituto di Sociologia Internazionale di Gorizia) and the CESCI Balkans, with the support of the Danube Strategic Project Fund. The aim of the project was to strengthen the internal cohesion and social relations of the Danube and the Adriatic and Ionian Regions by increasing the permeability of borders and building cross-border networks. During the project, partners placed great emphasis on the involvement of the younger generations in the professional discourse.

One of the most important elements of the project was the 10th Youth Forum and International Conference held in Tivat, Montenegro on 30-31 May, where 120 university students and young experts involved in cross-border cooperation participated. On the one hand, the event provided a personal meeting point for young people from different countries of the Danube, Adriatic and Ionian Regions, and on the other hand it laid the basis for a long-term initiative, the so called “Practitioners program” that has an aim to prepare future professionals for managing cross-border cooperation and development.

You can read about the details of the interactive, workshop-like Youth Forum and the international conference here.

In the second half of the project, an online cross-border cooperation platform was created, where the actors concerned (Euroregions, EGTCs, joint chambers, experts, etc.) can share news, events on their activities, build international partnerships and can use the features of the so-called CBC tool-kit. The latter includes inter alia, e-learning materials on European cross-border cooperation policies, on the legal and institutional frameworks of cooperation, on cross-border planning and project management. In addition, users can also browse the online library on CBC, the collection of good practices and they can look for funding sources for their projects with the help of the resource map function.

The main aim of the platform is to make these cross-border structures visible, to provide a continuous online meeting point for the participants and to contribute to the success of the establishment, development and operation of cross-border cooperation structures by gathering the existing information and knowledge base and making them easily accessible.

The platform is available on the following link: https://secco2.eu/
