CESCI is an association based in Hungary which aims to decrease the separating effects of the (state) borders in Central Europe. To this end, we conduct researches, elaborate strategic plans, prepare and implement projects, support cross-border cooperation practitioners and take part in policy-making on national and EU level.

CESCI participates as a consortium partner in the pan-European ESPON project supporting better governance of cross-border functional areas.

European Cross-Border Platform

In order to further enhance cross-border cooperation and support the unique needs of border regions across Europe, the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) has announced the establishment of the European Cross-Border Platform of which CESCI is an important ally.

BorderLabs CE

The BorderLabs CE project supported by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE programme aims to improve the level of integration of Central Europe by diminishing the separating effects of state borders.

Legal accessibility

The objective of our Legal accessibility initiative is to identify the persisting legal and administrative obstacles along the Hungarian borders and to draft proposals for their elimination in order to facilitate cross-border cooperation and lighten everyday life of border people. Beside the sectoral recommendations, CESCI also promotes the establishment of the institutional background of obstacle management at national, at bilateral (with the neighbouring countries) and international (i.e. Visegrad Countries) level.

Within the framework of the project 'EU integration of Ukraine across borders - with the help of the V4', funded by the International Visegrad Fund, the partners aimed to organise two events during the annual event of the Association of European Border Regions held in Košice between 8 and 11 November 2023.

#ACCESS is a strategic project of the INTERREG VI-A Hungary-Slovakia programme managed by CESCI and CESCI Carpathia with a purpose to systematically unfold and eliminate persisting legal and administrative obstacles along the shared border. The project started in May 2023 and lasts until April 2029.
