EGTC-Workshop 2019/3 (Hollókő)

Hollókő, 28-29 November 2019

The third EGTC workshop in 2019 took place on 28-29 November in a Hungarian palóc village, Hollókő, which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The host of the workshop was the Ipoly Valley EGTC. The director of the EGTC and mayor of Ludányhalász, Imre Kovács greeted the participants.

Chairman of the Hungarian Tourism Destination Management Association, Sándor Semsei and programme director of the Hungarian Tourism Association, Anita Molnár presented about the criteria, success and tourism development strategic orientations of tourism destination in the first section of the programme. Chairman of the Dunamente Consortium, Gábor Magyarics shared his experiences about the cross-border or transnational feasibility of tourism development. Manager of the Hollókői Világörökség-kezelő Nonprofit Kft. (World Heritage Management of Hollókő Nonprofit Ltd.), Péter Kelecsényi informed the participants about the territorial experiences and the road to sustainable tourism.
The second section focused on the Eurovelo routes, the cycling developments and the related tourism data, in the framework of which the programme manager of the Aktív- és Ökoturisztikai Fejlesztési Központ Nonprofit Kft. (Active and Ecotourism Development Center Nonprofit Ltd.), Miklós Berencsi demonstrated the current domestic direction. Vice President of the Hungarian Cycling Tourism Association, Erzsébet Pénzes raised awareness on the conditions providing the sustainability of cycling tourism, while programme manager of the BringaAkadémia (BikeAcademy), Tamás Abelovszky raised awareness on practical experiences and relating innovation.  At the end of the professional programmes, the EGTCs presented their own good practices, therefore the Pons Danubii EGTC, the Ister-Granum EGTC, the Muraba EGTC, the Ipoly Valley EGTC and the Gate to Europe EGTC were all involved.
On the day after the event, coworker of CESCI, Enikő Hüse-Nyerges talked about the post-Interreg resources and the tendering opportunities. The following workshop raised awareness for the importance of training professionals working in the border region, planning the budget cycle for the period between 2021-2027 and the continuous monitoring of legal operation.
