The Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) and the Pannon EGTC, in collaboration with the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, are organising a Strategic b-solutions Conference entitled “Cross-border Labour Mobility and European Integration in the Western Balkans,” which will be held on October 7, 2025. Dr. Katalin Fekete, legal advisor of CESCI, will contribute her expertise to one of the roundtable discussions.

Building on the example of the Pannon EGTC’s use of b-solutions to create solutions in cross-border employment, this event will also consider the broader strategic relevance for EU integration and enlargement in the Western Balkans of addressing obstacles to labour mobility using EU tools to build cross-border labour markets and competitiveness. 

The event will take place at the University of Osijek Campus, Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek, address: Vladimira Preloga 1, Osijek, Croatia, from 09:00 to 16:15, followed by a networking cocktail.

The event will bring together local, national, regional and EU-level actors to explore the legal, administrative, and institutional frameworks that influence labour mobility and employment across borders, especially in the context of EU integration and regional cooperation.  

Through a dynamic programme featuring expert presentations, case studies, and practical discussions, the event will strategically capitalise on how b-solutions can support fair and efficient cross-border employment, offering concrete tools and examples to address legal and administrative barriers in the field of labour mobility.
