Training material to improve the capacity of Ukrainian local actors

Our project, started in November 2020, called “With cross-border cooperation for the Europeanisation of Ukrainian borders” with the support of the International Visegrad Fund reached its next milestone: our training material to help build cross-border cooperation has been completed.

The training material is built up by ten chapters in which the project partners offer detailed theoretical and practical information such as the legal-institutional and economic background, European policies of CBC, best practices of everyday CBC, cross-border governance, citizens’ involvement, paradiplomacy of regional and local actors, intercultural cooperation across the border, cross-border planning, cross-border project development and fundraising. 

Each chapter is structured according to a similar logic, with theoretical and practical explanations and examples concluding in questions and tasks to help deepen the newly gained knowledge. At the end of the training material, a detailed terminology list and bibliography help the readers. The Ukrainian language material will be used in practice by the project partners in the training to be organized in February 2022.

The project is led by CESCI in collaboration with the State University «Uzhgorod National University» (Faculty of Law), Institute of Economic and Legal Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (IELR NASU), University of Presov, Faculty of Arts, Institute of Political Science, Stanisław Leszczycki Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization Polish Academy of Sciences and the Technical University of Liberec.
