Civitas Sapiens ’21 Smart City Conference + V4 Summit

| 22 September 2021

The Digital Welfare Program organized for the third time the “Civitas Sapiens ’21 Smart City Conference, which was supplemented with the “ V4 Summit” in the framework of the Hungarian V4 Presidency.

At the conference, the participants of the Hungarian smart city and village ecosystem discussed the Hungarian and V4 settlement development innovations in plenary lectures and roundtable discussions, and the “Digital Village of the Year” awards established this year were also presented. The conference provided an opportunity for the V4 countries to present good practices in the administrative and market sectors and to facilitate dialogue between municipalities and smart technology economic operators. Several rapporteurs emphasized the important role of international and cross-border cooperation in the field of digitization, not only at national level, but also in strengthening regional and inter-municipal relations. Another important lesson from the presentations is that instead of island-like, ad hoc interventions, the creation of integrated systems based on strategic planning, developed for specific problems, is an example to follow in smart city projects.
