The design of the cross-border programmes for 2021-2027 is underway

| 21 July 2021

In 2020 the preparation of the territorial analyses of three cross-border cooperation programmes played a prominent role among the planning activities of CESCI. The programme’s design process continued in 2021 based on the finalised documents with the contribution of CESCI to the finalisation of their first chapter titled ‘Joint programme strategy’. Further chapters are being prepared by the Joint Secretariats and assigned consultancies.

In the case of the INTERREG IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Hungary-Serbia, the draft versions of several chapters of the programme were approved at the 4th meeting of the Programming Committee. The first chapter called ‘Joint programme strategy’ which was prepared by CESCI, can be considered completed in terms of content.

CESCI has already prepared the ‘Joint programme strategy’ chapter related to the INTERREG Slovakia-Hungary Cross-border Cooperation Programme, which was approved by the Programming Committee via a written procedure that was concluded on 17 July 2021.

CESCI has also completed the ‘Joint programme strategy’ chapter for the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine NDICI programme and submitted it to the Managing Authority of the programme. The written opinion of the Programming Committee on this chapter is currently being prepared.

The Cohesion policy legislative package 2021-2027 entered into force on 1 July 2021 which greatly affects the compilation and launch of the next programmes. The adoption of this long-awaited legislation package will provide the opportunity to finalise the programming documents and submit them to the Commission as soon as possible.
