EGTC-Workshop 2016/2 (Mórahalom)

On the 8th-9th of June 2016, the  Cross-border Economic Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in co-organization with Banat-Triplex Confinium EGTC and CESCI, held the current EGTC workshop in Mórahalom. The event was realized with the support of KÖFOP (Public Administration and Development Operative Programme) 3.3.3-15 project.

The workshop was opened by Zoltán Nógrádi, president-director of BTC EGTC and mayor of Mórahalom, who presented the grouping of 77 members. The next speaker was Gyula Ocskay, who described CESCI’s Legal accessibility project in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, the aim of which is to give an inventory of the legal and administrative obstacles faced by cross-border cooperation and movements, and formulate proposals for the alteration of legislative acts to overcome those. Réka Shiraishi of the Ministry of Foreign affairs and Trade finished the section by giving a summary about the state of cross-border cooperation programmes.

After the break, Miklós Kószó, office manager of BTC EGTC, presented the experience of European Union tender monitoring and control, followed by the summary of the grouping’s results and experience. The programme was closed by a networking event.

The second day of the workshop, Gábor Jenei, national deputy coordinator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, held a presentation about the Strategy for the Danube Region as a fund coordination framework. He also described the support schemes available in the Danube Transnational Programme. He was followed by Márton Szűcs, head of the joint technical secretariat of Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia, who talked about the programme’s history and the experience on project application and implementation process.

The final act of the workshop was a consultation between EGTC representatives and the associates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, during which the technical and practical issues of 2016 EGTC support, questions about 2015 tender conclusion, and the possible list of future events were discussed.
