The WAVE project has been launched

| 25 March 2020

The WAVE project (WAter-linked heritage Validation by developing an Ecosystemic approach), supported by the European Union INTERREG EUROPE programme, is based on extensive international cooperation. The project is led by the city of Breda (Netherlands) and the project partners are the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, CertiMaC Italian Research Institute, Ravenna in Italy, Aarhus in Denmark, Alicante Province in Valencia (Spain) and the Ister-Granum EGTC on the Hungarian-Slovakian border.

The aim of the project is to develop regional and local policies that provide opportunities for the integrated adaptive reuse and development of water heritage sites in populated areas. CESCI, to the invitation of the Ister-Granum EGTC is conducting a situation analysis, based on the knowledge and experience of professionals in the Ister-Granum euroregion through workshops and questionnaires, in order to ensure that the resulting policy proposals and pilot projects reflect as closely as possible the needs of the region.

At the moment the Regional Status Quo analyzes are being written under the scientific supervision of Delft University of Technology. The project partners will then share their experiences through online meetings, and – according to the plans – International Knowledge Exchange Sessions will be organized throughout the year to share good practices identified during the process. Even though no specific investment will be made under this call, the results can be built into future developments.
