Report on the extraordinary general assembly of CESCI

The Central European Service for Cross-Border Initiatives (CESCI) held its extraordinary general meeting online on October 12, 2023, during which decisions were made primarily on membership and presidency matters.

As part of the first item on the agenda, the general assembly decided on the membership application of 15 natural persons. Since, based on the preliminary negotiations, there were no statutory obstacles to the admission of the new members, and, based on the introductions, the members of the general assembly were also convinced of the commitment of the applicants to support cross-border cooperation, they univocally voted to admit the new members to the association.

List of the new members:

  • Dr. Tímea Tünde Csetnek (HU)
  • Judit Csókás (SK)

As is known, Prof. Dr. János Rechnitzer, retired Head of the Department of the Széchenyi István University of Győr, member of the CESCI Board, passed away in June this year. Following this sad event, the CESCI leadership asked Mr Ferenc Ivanics, Vice President of the Assembly of the Municipality of Győr-Moson-Sopron County, to be a candidate for the Board. The Vice President accepted the invitation with pleasure. In the absence of a dissenting vote, the general assembly elected him.

In addition, the members approved the rules of procedure of the reconstituted Supervisory Board adopted on August 23.

The next ordinary general assembly of CESCI will be held in the spring of 2024.
