CESCI, together with its partners, the Strasbourg University, Artois University, Thessaloniki University, MOT, Euro-Institut and the TEIN Network, developed the first Massive Open Online Course devoted to European Territorial Cooperation on behalf of the European Commission.
The course deals with subjects such as the foundations of territorial cooperation, its origins, evolution and theoretical framework, as well as the European policies and decision-making processes in the field of territorial cooperation. Furthermore, a thematic approach is also used showcasing relevant examples from healthcare cooperation, spatial planning, mobility, nature and culture also explaining the how territorial cooperation is concretely implemented by local stakeholders, which difficulties they encounter and which means and tools were activated in order to overcome them.
The Central European Service for Cross-border Initiatives was responsible for the preparation of the third chapter dedicated to the presentation of some thematic issues such as healthcare cooperation, spatial planning, mobility, nature and culture. Most of the subchapters start with a short movie or music clip that sheds light on the main challenges or some best practices specific to the given topic. Once the educational videos are watched, the participants are encouraged to dig deeper in the topics by reviewing the learning materials, then test their newly acquired knowledge by filling out the quizzes.
The completion of the 6-week course is free and the successful graduates will receive a certificate of completion at the end.
