Heal Now closing conference

The INTERREG V-A AT-HU 2014-2020 project HEAL NOW is the first cooperation initiative in the field of healthcare in this border region. The main objective of the project started in 2020 was to improve health care quality for citizen living within the border region by laying the basis for the long-term cooperation.

The project partners are the Health Agency of Lower Austria, the National Directorate General for Hospitals from Hungary, in addition the Province of Burgenland joined them as a strategic partner. CESCI contributed to the implementation of the project as a stakeholder.

The closing conference of the project took place in Wiener Neustadt on 28 November 2022, where the project participants presented the main results:

1. A survey on the health status in the border region was conducted, as well as a cooperation agenda with short-, mid- and long-term goals was elaborated for the period until 2030.
2. Special equipment was installed in the Lower Austrian Landesklinikum Wr. Neustadt and the Hungarian hospital in Sopron which allows the daily, digital cooperation of the two institutions in the field of pathology.
3. A cooperation agreement between the ambulance services of the two countries have been initiated in order to improve emergency care in the border region.

In light of the successful project, both project partners and the political leaders expressed their intentions to continue the cooperation in the future.
