Contribution document of CESCI to the discussion paper of Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 (HU)

In 2013 CESCI formulated its policy contribution on the public consultation draft of the Rural Development Programme, paying particular attention to borderlands and territorially integrated interventions.

One of the central chapters of the document drew the attention to the missing territorially integrated approach to regional development funded by several programmes and sources in rural areas. Afterwards, the document discussed what cross-border dimension would mean for the rural development OP; what policy and funding solutions could have been applied. The document then demonstrated the opportunities of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development for cross-border rural development.

The annex to the document contained CESCI’s contribution to the reflection paper of the National Rural Strategy Concept, which could provide a useable professional opinion for the OP as well. The annex to the professional opinion was a reminder to the development processes still determining the territorial structure and the relationship between landscape and society in the Carpathian Basin, and it made some proposals related to the topic (e.g. on cross-border landscapes).
