EGTC Award 2020

The 2020 edition of the call for application for the award “Building Europe across borders” – Award for EGTCs is open. The award aims to recognize the concrete achievements of the existing EGTCs, showing the EU added value of this instrument and promoting them as examples for other groupings or similar cross-border, interregional and transnational structures. In case you have concrete actions and projects implemented on the territory of your EGTC, do not hesitate to submit your application!
The European Committee of the Regions launched the European award named “Building Europe across borders” to recognise and give visibility to the best practices of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) in Europe. In line with the CoR strategy to support the EGTCs, the objective of the award is to underline the role of these groupings as a lever for economic growth and job creation, environmental and nature protection, and as promotors of education, social inclusion, cultural heritage and European citizenship. This award is biennial, and 2020 marks its fourth edition.
This year, concrete actions and projects implemented by EGTCs during 2018 and/or 2019 shall be rewarded by the jury that will assess the added value of the EGTC in implementing the particular action; as well as its impact on the territory and its value as best practice.
The candidates shall submit a detailed description of the concerned project until 17 April 2020. The application form can be downloaded here.
