The function of the Via Carpatia Corridor in the social and economic development of the Via Carpatia EGTC area

In February 2016, Košice County Council assigned CESCI to draft an analysis on the expected socio-economic impacts of the planned north-south transport corridor Via Carpatia running along the eastern borders of the European Union on the Polish-Slovak-Hungarian border area. The study including policy recommendations was co-crated with CESCI Carpathia. As a result of the study, CESCI was invited to the V4 professional conference on the subject organised by the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (MMK) on October 7. In connection with the conference, at the request of MMK, we also compiled a non-paper, which was partly published in the Engineers’ Journal. At the request of Košice County Council, the team also developed a background document summarising the conditions for obtaining the TEN-T label.
