Knowledge sharing | 01 July 2025
Arrabona EGTC is now co-organising the Győr Climate Expo for the fourth year in a row. Their participation in GreenTech Zalaegerszeg 2025 was made possible by a support programme launched by CESCI this year, which helps members participate at relevant professional events. Thanks to the programme, Arrabona EGTC has had the opportunity to learn about adaptable good practices and innovative solutions that can contribute to further raising the professional standard of the Climate Expo in order to expand the impact and reach of the event.
Participation and programmes
Arrabona EGTC participated with a six-member delegation in the VI. GreenTech Green Energy and Sustainability Exhibition and Conference, which was held at the ZalaZONE Vehicle Testing Track on 22-23 May 2025.
During the two-day event:
- they learned about the latest green technology developments and sustainability solutions,
- they established contacts with domestic and international players in the fields of energy efficiency, circular economy, water management and green mobility,
- they visited the infrastructure of the ZalaZONE test track, which is one of the centres for automotive and smart transport developments.
Presentations attended
They participated in several plenary and thematic presentations on topics including:
- Energy independence and decentralised energy production – good practices in local government and business.
- Circular economy – turning waste into resources, local examples.
- Green transport and urban mobility – electric vehicles, community transport models.
- Sustainable water management – adaptation to climate change.
- Financing green investments – presentation of EU and domestic sources.
Experiences
- The event provided an excellent opportunity for professional networking, especially in terms of cross-border cooperation and the preparation of joint projects.
- It was confirmed that technological innovations and the active involvement of local communities are essential for achieving sustainability goals.
- They encountered several solutions that they consider adaptable to the Győr–Moson–Sopron and Nitra regions, particularly in the areas of community energy, green transport and water management.
Results and next steps
During the visit, they learned about a number of ideas and approaches that can be directly incorporated into the future programme of the Győr Climate Expo. The structure of the GreenTech event, the thematic diversity of the exhibitors and speakers, and the use of the venue’s facilities can serve as an inspiring example for the further development of their own event.
