Contribution paper to the draft National Transport Strategy (HU)

In 2013 CESCI formulated its policy contribution on the draft of the National Transport Strategy, in which CESCI focused on the cross-border aspects of the strategy.

The contribution paper provided general introductory remarks, as well as specific remarks and proposals. Regarding the first type of comments, towns with distorted agglomerations are presented, as their future fundamentally depends on the ability to respond to the mobility demands provided by the opening borders, and thus on the reconstruction of incomplete agglomerations. The second type of comments expressed, on the one hand, the professional support of CESCI, and on the other hand, raised awareness on the deficiencies and made proposals to complete them. This part of the document discussed, among other things, the characteristics of urban networks, the development of cross-border infrastructure and mobility along the border per sections of the state border. In addition, the paper made a number of additional comments regarding the SWOT analysis.

Last but not least, the document assessed the content of the development tools, highlighting cross-border elements that CESCI considered to be supported and prioritised.
