Position paper of CESCI to the Spatial Development Strategic and Operational Programme of Komárom-Esztergom county (HU)

In accordance with the professional orientation of the association, CESCI primarily focuses on the cross-border aspects of the Regional Development Strategic and Operational Programme of Komárom-Esztergom County, which are of paramount importance due to the geographical location of the county.

Since the central content requirements that determine the planning and compilation of the county strategy were changing up until the last minute, the work of the planners was difficult. However, in most cases, the creators of the county programme successfully tried to display the forward-looking spatial approach characterising the Regional Development Concept of Komárom-Esztergom County, which was the basis of the programme. The county concept was almost entirely permeated by the spirit of cross-border cooperation, and a cooperating Danube region was considered one of the main keys for the county’s successful future. The approach of cross-border cooperation is also welcomed in the county programme, so the remarks formulated by CESCI typically consist of only minor additions instead of conceptual amendments.
