Cesci in B-Solutions: Solving Border Obstacles. A Compendium of 43 Cases
CESCI was also involved in the preparation of the first compendium of the B-solutions project, published by AEBR presenting the results of 43 case studies collected in the first two calls of the project. CESCI analysed a specific problem linked to cross-border share of municipal management services faced by Arrabona EGTC.
In the last few years, we were actively involved in the EU initiatives tackling still existing legal and administrative obstacles that hamper cross-border cooperation and mobility. Therefore, we participated in the work of the working group created by the Luxembourg EU Presidency, which resulted in the draft regulation regarding the European Cross-Border Mechanism. We participated also in the project Cross-Border Review implemented by the European Commission, which resulted in the publication of the Communication Boosting growth and cohesion in EU border regions.
Thanks to this Communication, the B-Solutions project coordinated by AEBR began with the objective to reveal more legal and administrative obstacles by including the local stakeholders, to help solve them, and to spread the knowledge on these solutions. Our association monitors the project’s results and tries to join its implementation too.
The Arrabona EGTC successfully applied for professional support within the second call of B-Solutions published by AEBR. As a registered expert in the database of AEBR, CESCI was requested to analyse the obstacle in question. The specific problem was brought up by the project Builcogreen (which was implemented by the EGTC earlier), that aimed at cross-border share of machines and tools used in municipal management. Within the B-Solutions project the experts of CESCI managed to unfold the Hungarian and Slovak legislative background related to cross-border mobility and the utilisation of these special machines. The experts also made a proposal on the improvement of the conditions that currently hamper the system’s operation.
